You’re all probably too young to get a “sponge worthy” joke but anyway, I tried sponging for the first time
OPI Black Onyx and OPI I’m not really a waitress. Sponging went ok but did leave some sponge bits in the polish and a mess on my fingers. Are y’all using makeup sponges?
I’m using make up sponges. And I appreciate your Seinfeld reference 😂😂

I have some makeup sponges but I’ve been afraid to make a mess with them! Your mani looks lovely 🙂
And I’m exactly old enough to get this reference, lol. When they brought back the today sponge a while ago I totally bought one just to see what all the fuss was about.

Those nails are definitely sponge-worthy.

Beautiful mani and I’m definitely old enough for the Elaine Benes reference…from the original airing and not syndication. 😅

Elaine taught generations of women with a good sense of humor what sponge-worthy is! Lovely talons, btw.

Amazing manicure!
I use retired beauty blenders. Eventually makeup sponges are too unsanitary to use on your face even when they’re washed often enough, so I just use my old real techniques makeup sponges as sacrifices for nail polish

Definitely sponge worthy! LOL

I use those white dense-foam triangular makeup wedges. I paint the polish onto my silicone nail mat, dip the sponge, then pat into the nail. Pat enough to blend, but not so long that it begins to lift the polish. It usually takes a couple coats.
To avoid making a huge mess on your skin, you can put liquid latex around your nails, let dry, and then most of the excess will go on that and you can just peel it up afterward. Also, the polish doesn’t usually soak very deep into the sponge in my experience, so if you allow it to dry and then snip off a thin layer with scissors, you can use the sponge a couple of times before throwing it out

Definitely sponge worthy nails! I’ve just been getting back into painting my nails this year, and I’ve also been wanting to use the sponge technique! You’ve sold me!! Videos I’ve watched use tiny square sponges. I have found them online, but i might use an old makeup one tonight!
